Our Story

Mozambique

The story begins in

Maputo, Mozambique.

 

Nic and Patricia built five venues there: an Italian restaurant, a steakhouse, two sports bars, and a coffee shop. Their son, Taiibi, grew up in those dining rooms and learned the business from the ground up.

Nikita Vipra comes from a cooking family.

She ran Savory House, a ghost kitchen in Maputo, for about eight years and built a strong following.

Approved at first bite.

When the family tried Nikita’s food, it matched the standard they believed in. Taiibi asked Nikita to build the kitchen with him and to take the lead on the food.

 

They chose Kalk Bay for the next chapter.

The Standard is the Plate.

Today Nikita leads the kitchen and Taiibi runs the floor at The Majestic, 124 Main Rd, Kalk Bay.

The promise is simple. Make plates we are proud to serve.
